Mamata expresses her firm position over Teesta issue again

Save the state first. Then think about providing water to Bangladesh. Once again chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee sent her message to stay firm in her own position. Coming to administrative meeting in Koch Bihar, Mamata informed that it was practically impossible to provide water of Teesta. On Monday she told, “We love Bangladesh very much. But there is no water in Teesta. Farming is not done in North Bengal. We do not get water, what will we do?”

During Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India this month Mamata told about her objection over Teesta. She gave a proposal to provide water of other rivers of North Bengal including Torsha instead of water of Teesta. She told, “I have told everyone to think about an alternative proposal. Small rivers like Torsha, Mansai, Dhanasai, Dhalara join Bangladesh. We want Bangladesh to get water.” Read more
